Santa Barbara Residence

Inspired by nature and urban lifestyle, Santa Barbara Residence is a contemporary home with its own exclusive matrix. We are proud to present the design of this unique 3260 sqm residential project, which at the time of construction exceeded any other in terms of innovation and luxury on the beautiful island of Cyprus. The complete renovation of this project took 3 years. Partially preserving the original shape of the building with the addition of one upper level “Zeus”, we transformed the four-level structure into a 5-story lavish villa - imitating sea waves, a distinctive element that can also be seen in the interior design of the residence.

Our task was to create a legend, a new style of urban residence and combine it with a modern, extravagant, but comfortable interior, where endless views of the sea should open from all living quarters. There were 3 options for the design of the building and the surrounding areas. We have worked hard on the interior planning. The implemented project is a symbiosis of the most interesting and practical ideas.

The construction of the project has been fully completed. Some details have been changed at the request of the customer. The furniture, finishing materials, lamps, accessories presented in the project were carefully selected from the collections of our sister company Elite Interiors (link), many furnishings and equipment were exclusively designed by our team for this residence. Each level has its own purpose and distinctive design.

Level "Zeus" (upper level of the residence) - Represents the elements of fire and water, their superiority, support and power. Futuristic space 240 sq.m. – owner’s private floor- essence of this level gravitates around the central super king size round bed. A level feature is an extravagant open bath - aquarium from which one can admire endless sea views. The bedroom has a lounge with a round sofa, a work desk, spacious dressing rooms with sliding doors made of curved coloured glass, a kitchenette, and two fully equipped bathrooms. The master bathroom features an infrared sauna and has panoramic views of the resort. The glazing of this bathroom allows the owner to maintain privacy, using the special property of glass - becoming frosted using PRIVA-LITE technology.

Hermes level (fourth level) - Represents hospitality and business success of its owner. Open mobile space of 700 sq.m. which may within a few seconds transform into a separate kitchen, dining room for seating up to 20 people and living room saloon. The use of automatic glass partitions easily adapts the room to the various needs of its owner, be it a formal lunch, a conference, a buffet or a quiet candlelight dinner. The dining area floor was custom-made made in Austria using glass print technology, which gives the room an indescribable atmosphere of free floating in space. Located on the same level there is a study room equipped for work and official meetings. Level "Apollo" (third level) - dedicated to the love of beauty and the patronage of art, poetry and music. This level is designed for relaxation and pleasure with every feature dedicated to the well - being of its owner. The spacious cinema - music salon with a piano; garden retreats exhibiting a “Labyrinths” with frequents fresh herbs and murmur of flowing fountains, formed around a cylindrical aquarium with sea water - a place for moments of solitude and meditation. The billiard room overlooks the infinity outdoor pool. On this level there are three guest bedrooms with separate entrances, each with a spacious bathroom and access to a gallery leading to the outdoor swimming pool.

SPA LEVEL “Poseidon” (second level) - associated with a natural oasis, which, in combination with modern technology, sets new categories for an integrated approach to relaxation. 1200 sq.m SPA area of can compete with any professional center. There is everything for complete relaxation: an indoor pool of 200 sq.m. with separate plunge pools, a sauna finished with relief boards made of stone pine and thermally treated Abbachi wood; an extravagant glass steam room “Geyser”, a snow cabin installed for the first time in Cyprus, 2 massage rooms, changing rooms, a bar recreation area. The most important feature of this level is a 40-ton ocean aquarium in full human height with a curved glass, behind which the life of a futuristic reef unfolds, stretching 11 meters along the wall!

A gallery with wine storage facilities connects the SPA and the Winter Garden - the real of a year-round tropical oasis. The automatic sliding glass roof of the winter garden provides access to daylight and fresh air not only from the winter garden, but also to the nearby gym and games room. At the same level there are isolated technical and storage rooms, including a working kitchen, laundry and refrigeration room.

The Hephaestus level is the lower level of the residence, representing diligence and skill. In the basement level there are three separate bedrooms with bathrooms, ready to comfortably accommodate from 7 to 9 persons of staff. Each room was provided with access to daylight and exit to the veranda. An interesting solution was also found for the coastal zone adjacent to the building. The garden, laid out on three levels in a minimalist style, does not contradict the appearance of the residence and allows you to reveal all the beauty of the project, enhancing it in the mirror reflections of stepped water cascades. The unique design of this project was highly acclaimed in several international competitions. In 2011, at a competition held in London by the international association EUROPEAN RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY AWARDS, the project was awarded for the best interior design. A year earlier, within the framework of the exhibition and international competition "AQUA-SALON. WELLNESS & SPA", held at the Moscow Exhibition Center "Crocus-Expo", the project won 1st place for the best solution for a private pool and spa.
